The Federal High Court (Practice Directions on E-Affidavits), 2024 was made by the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Honourable Justice John Terhemba Tsoho, OFR, KSS, FCIArb. (UK) in the exercise of his powers under Orders 57 and 58 of the Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules 2019, and other enabling powers, to establish these Practice Directions.

These Practice Directions will apply to E-Affidavits issued by the Federal High Court of Nigeria, except where otherwise directed by the Chief Judge.

The purpose of these Practice Directions is to implement the new E-Affidavit regime in alignment with global best practices. This includes ensuring the efficient, transparent, and prompt issuance of E-Affidavits, protecting the interests of litigants and other users, and regulating the standard of issuance of E-Affidavits upon payment of the prescribed fees.

The effective date of the Directions is 1st July 2024.
