“ALESS 2021 / ALSA COURT VISITATION

“ALESS 2021 / ALSA COURT VISITATION
Undoubtedly, legal education spreads beyond tertiary institutions and Law Schools. It goes down to Secondary Schools were future lawyers are groomed from the foundation. Again, lots of citizens are not aware of certain provisions of the law as it relates governance, citizenship, rights and freedoms.
It is in a bid to promote legal awareness to educate ourselves properly and to promote Human Rights, Abia State Law Students’ Association (ALSA) embarked on A Legal Enlightenment in Secondary Schools (ALESS) 2021, a Court Visitation to Hight Courts in Calabar and Awka, and we also lent our thoughts to the World Human Rights Day on December 10th by doing a virtual Human Rights Education.
In ALSA, we believe that we owe our society and to give back the Law which we have been taught is a necessity. In the months of November and December, this was carried out across Secondary schools in North, South South and South East, Nigeria where students, teachers and members of the society were exposed and also addressed on their questions.
