Conditions For Disconnection of Electricity Supply of a Customer

Conditions For Disconnection of Electricity Supply of a Customer by any Electricity Distribution Company in Nigeria.

No electricity distribution company in Nigeria can disconnect your electricity supply even when you are owing unless;

1. A correct bill with a clear payment date is served on you.
2. You are given at least 10 working days to pay from the date of receipt of bill.
3. There is at least 3 months between the payment date and the date of disconnection and
4. You have received a written warning that your electricity supply will be disconnected if payment is not made.

See Regulation 5 of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission’s Connection and Disconnection Procedures For Electricity Services, 2007.
