The Child’s Rights Law of Lagos State

The Child’s Rights Law of Lagos State is a law thatwas enacted by the Lagos State House of Assembly on the 28th of May, 2007.

The law seeks to enforce the rights and advance the welfare of the child and to amend and consolidate all laws relating to the protection and welfare of the child in Lagos State as well as other connected and incidental purposes.

The law which consists of about 263 sections and a total of 11 schedules.

Under the Child Right Law of Lagos State, a child have the right to: Life, survival and balanced development; a name and registration at birth; dignity and respect; privacy, family life and parental care, protection and maintenance etc.
